Winter wandering

We finally received some snow in our neck of the woods. The next day brought bright sunshine, so where did I go? To a cemetery, naturally. I find them places of extraordinary beauty, and in snow, quite peaceful.

The birch tree is among my favorite trees, especially in winter when the bark is so prominent.

watch factory

Across the Charles River from the cemetery is an old watch factory. Waltham is known as Watch City, well, because it made watches. It is being converted now into a combination of condos, apartments and businesses.

snowy repose

This fenced off section caught my attention because of the combination of colors.

munster family

This headstone was for a family named Munster. Another side of this monument showed four children. Three died before turning a year old. The other lived to see 20.

These old street signs make me happy.
